Inspired by Italian Pietro Metastasio’s (1729) poem of the same title, set to music by Schubert.

Dedicated to the eternal loves, to the ones lasting even after death.
To the authentic hearts, open wide as to accept and -especially- give love, of all kinds.
To the poet and his sentimentally unique poem.

Lyrics – English translation :

Remember, my beloved,
if it happens that I die,
how much this faithful
spirit loved thee.

And if cold ashes
still can love,
even in the urn
I shall adore thee.
